Are you the using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) functionality in Windows 10 or Windows 8 and even if you can connect to the shared network you cannot access the Internet? Did it work when you tried it on Windows 7? Here is a solution to the problem.
Solution to Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) problem in Windows 10 and Windows 8
There is obviously a bug in Windows 10 and Windows 8 making Internet Connection Sharing not work. More precisely, you can connect to the shares network but get no access to the internet.
What you need to to after your network has been shared, through Internet Connection Sharing, is to restart the Internet Connection Sharing services of the sharing (host) computer. Simply write “services” after pressing the start button in Windows 10 or Windows 8. Then look for the Internet Connection Sharing service and restart thar service. Problem solved. You should now get internet on the device/devices connected to the shared network. Note that this procedure probably has to be repeated every time you want to use Internet Connection Sharing in Windows 10 or Windows 8.
